School Library Practice in Blended & Online Learning

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as individual 3-credit graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

Libraries play a vital role in learner achievement. Whether schools are brick and mortar, blended, or entirely online, library services are critical. This course explores all aspects of contemporary school libraries, from collaborative digital instruction and curation to reading promotion and meaningful making to support inquiry.

Whether schools are brick and mortar, blended, or entirely online, library services and instruction are critical for learner achievement. Librarians must be prepared to meet the needs of both their professional colleagues and students regardless of setting. This course explores all aspects of contemporary school libraries, including: strategies for meeting AASL Standards through collaborative online media literacy and inquiry instruction, curating digital resources, developing engaging online library platforms, promoting reading across platforms and meaningful making for inquiry learning.
