EDU 960 iPads in Education
Explores the broad applications and utility of the iPad as a classroom teaching device. Practical instruction provides strategies and skills for effective classroom integration.
This intensive course is designed for classroom educators to explore, and practice with, the Apple iPad and how the integration of this device into their practice impacts their teaching, student learning, and classroom dynamics. Tools/apps to be explored and used, for example, range from grade and content specific apps to “office” apps, from iBooks to Book Creator, and from movie creation to presentation apps, and much more. Students will also learn the complex nature of how to manage the workflow from student to teacher and back. Within a peer learning model, students will design, implement and evaluate a classroom activity that incorporates one or more apps.
A 64GB iPad is included in the course. You will have the option to upgrade the memory to 256GB for an additional charge. The iPad provided, which is included in your tuition, is compatible with the Apple Pencil (not included).
Note that participation in this course requires wireless home internet access to be able to complete the assignments.
*Participants in the online version of the course will have several mandatory, synchronous, video conference sessions. The dates and times are listed on each course registration page.
